Chute Lake Road, the Kettle Valley Railway, and the switchbacks above Joe Rich aren't roads — they're statements about how far a ride can go when the bike is right. The 2025 Norco Search C GRX is built for that kind of thinking: a full carbon frame with suspension-corrected geometry, integrated downtube storage, 50mm tyre clearance, and a Shimano GRX 12-speed drivetrain designed to handle everything from smooth packed gravel to chunky doubletrack. Whether you're planning a multi-day KVR traverse or a big day out from Kelowna, the Search C GRX is designed to carry more, go further, and still be quick when the road smooths out.

KEY FEATURES

Full carbon frame with downtube storage — the Search carbon frame is built with an integrated DT Storage hatch below the bottle cage, giving access to two internal waterproof bags for snacks, tools, or spares. UDH-compatible hanger, BSA 68mm threaded bottom bracket, fully guided internal cable routing, integrated front fender mount (fender included), and rear fender mount compatibility. 50c tyre clearance. One colour: Agave.

Carbon suspension-corrected fork — the Norco Search carbon fork is designed around suspension fork dimensions, meaning a RockShox Rudy or Fox 32 TC gravel suspension fork drops straight in if you ever want to add compliance. 51mm offset, 12x100mm thru-axle. Ships rigid.

Shimano GRX 12-speed drivetrain — mixed-grade GRX build: top-line GRX RD-RX822 12-speed rear derailleur paired with GRX FC-RX610 crankset (40T, size-specific crank arm lengths), GRX ST610 12-speed integrated shift/brake levers, and Shimano CS-M7100 10-45T cassette with KMC X12 chain. Wide ratio keeps the climbs manageable.

Shimano GRX 400 hydraulic disc brakes — Shimano BR-RX400 hydraulic calipers front and rear with resin pads, actuated by GRX ST610 levers. Shimano SM-RT64 160mm C-lock rotors. Consistent modulation in all conditions.

WTB ST i25 wheels with Schwalbe G-One All Round tyres — WTB ST i25 2.0 alloy rims (25mm ID, 28h) on Shimano HB/FH-TC500 sealed-bearing thru-axle hubs (12x100mm front, 12x142mm Micro Spline rear). Schwalbe G-One All Round RaceGuard 700x45c tyres front and rear. Max clearance: 700x50c.

Norco Super Flare compact handlebar — 16° flare, 31.8mm clamp, width scales with size (40cm on S1/S2, 42cm on S3, 44cm on S4, 46cm on S5). 70mm Norco SL Alloy stem. Griptacular 3mm shockproof bar tape.

Weight: 9.5kg / 20.9 lbs

WHO IS THIS FOR

The Search C GRX suits riders who think in kilometres and want a gravel bike with genuine carrying capacity and multi-surface confidence — not just a road bike with wider tyres. The carbon frame keeps weight down for long days in the saddle, while the integrated downtube storage, 50c clearance, and suspension-compatible fork make it equally at home on a loaded overnighter or an unloaded spirited ride. If you're exploring the KVR, planning a Myra Canyon day trip, or regularly mixing pavement and backroads through the Okanagan, the Search C GRX is purpose-built for that kind of riding.

GEOMETRY & SIZING

The 2025 Search has received significant geometry updates: in S4, reach is 40mm longer, stack is 12mm taller, and the head tube angle is 1° slacker versus the previous generation. The longer front centre and slacker head angle give it a more confident, stable feel on rough descents and loose surfaces — closer in character to a trail-oriented geometry than a traditional road-derived gravel bike, while the 70mm stem across all sizes keeps handling responsive.

Key geometry (all sizes, stack | reach in mm):

  • S1 (5'0"–5'5"): Stack 554 / Reach 385
  • S2 (5'4"–5'8"): Stack 564 / Reach 400
  • S3 (5'7"–5'11"): Stack 587 / Reach 415
  • S4 (5'10"–6'3"): Stack 611 / Reach 430
  • S5 (6'0"–6'6"): Stack 634 / Reach 445

Note: carbon and aluminium Search models share identical geometry, with a 10mm lower standover on the aluminium version. Our team at Fresh Air can help you choose your size based on riding style and fit preferences — overlapping size ranges are intentional.

HOW TO SET UP

The Search C GRX's BSA threaded bottom bracket and Shimano GRX components make it straightforward to service — no proprietary press-fit surprises. Our service team at both Fresh Air Kelowna locations handles GRX drivetrain adjustments, hydraulic brake bleeds, and full seasonal tune-ups. Book a service online or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q1: Can I fit a suspension fork on the Norco Search C GRX?
Yes — the carbon fork on the Search is built to suspension-corrected geometry, meaning a gravel suspension fork like the RockShox Rudy Ultimate or Fox 32 TC fits without needing any geometry modifications. The bike ships rigid, but if you ride consistently rough or chunky terrain, it's a direct swap. Our team can advise on compatible forks and handle the fit at either Fresh Air location.

Q2: What does the downtube storage fit?
The DT Storage hatch sits below the bottle cage and opens to two internal waterproof bags. You can fit snacks, a spare tube, multi-tool, or small essentials — handy for keeping your pockets clear on longer rides without adding an external bag. The bike also supports a standard bottle cage above the hatch, so you're not losing water carry capacity.

Q3: What tyre size can I run on the Search C GRX?
The Search C carbon frame clears up to 700x50c. The stock Schwalbe G-One All Round tyres are 700x45c, which is a versatile all-round width for the Okanagan's mix of packed gravel, rail trail, and rough doubletrack. If you want a bit more cushion and traction, a 700x48 or 700x50 tyre drops straight in.

Q4: What is the difference between the Search C GRX and the Search A GRX?
The C uses a full carbon frame with integrated downtube storage. The A uses an aluminium frame — no DT Storage, but it does include accessory mounts on the fork for direct bag attachment. Both models use the same carbon fork, identical geometry (10mm lower standover on the aluminium), and the same WTB wheels and Schwalbe tyres. The aluminium model is a lower entry price; the carbon is lighter and adds onboard storage. Come in and we can walk you through the comparison.

Q5: Is the Search C GRX suitable for bikepacking the KVR?
The Search C GRX was designed with exactly this kind of riding in mind. The integrated DT Storage carries essentials internally, the 50c tyre clearance handles the rougher KVR sections, and the 40T/10-45T gearing is wide enough for loaded climbing on rail trail grades. For a multi-day trip, you'd likely add a frame bag, seat bag, and top tube bag — our team can advise on compatible setups and fit them in-store.
