Dæhlie lists the Power Pants 2.0 as a regular fit, with tailored, slim-cut legs. They’re designed to wear over a base layer. If you plan to wear thicker thermal tights underneath on the coldest days, try them on over that layer to check the fit through the hips and thighs. Q2: Are these pants warm and waterproof enough for cross-country skiing at Sovereign Lake or SilverStar?
For everyday skiing, yes. The 3-layer softshell on the front and back of the legs is rated 10,000mm waterproof with 10,000 MVP breathability, so it blocks wind and handles snow while still letting heat escape on the climbs. The stretch panels prioritize mobility over weather protection. The pants aren’t insulated, so on very cold Okanagan days add warmer thermal tights underneath. For sitting in wet snow or skiing through sustained heavy precipitation, a fully waterproof shell pant is the better choice.

Q3: How do I care for the 3-layer softshell to maintain waterproofing and breathability?
Dæhlie recommends washing the pants separately at 40°C on a normal cycle, with all zips closed. Don’t use fabric softener, as it can affect the fabric’s DWR (durable water repellent) finish and breathability. Do not bleach, tumble dry, iron or dry clean. Washing regularly removes sweat and dirt that can reduce the fabric’s performance over a season.
