Product details

Cold, dry Okanagan days are what Big White and SilverStar are known for, and the Salomon Highland is built for them. It pairs a soft, stretchy AdvancedSkin Dry shell, rated 10,000mm waterproof and 10,000g breathable, with PrimaLoft Eco Black insulation, so you stay warm on frozen chairlift rides and free to move on every turn. WHO IS THIS FOR

The Highland is for skiers and snowboarders who want a warm, comfortable, fully featured jacket at a great value. It’s ideal for resort riders who spend full days at Big White and SilverStar, appreciate built-in insulation on cold chairlift rides, and like the freedom of a stretchy shell. It’s also a strong choice for newer skiers and riders building their first proper winter kit, or anyone who wants one reliable jacket for the whole season.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right size and fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk gear and activity with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q1: How does Salomon sizing run — true to size, or should I size up/down (and does it accommodate a base/mid-layer)?
The Highland has a regular fit, and most skiers will find it true to size. The stretch fabric adds comfort and freedom of movement. Since the jacket is already insulated, most people only need a base layer underneath, with a light mid-layer on the coldest days. We recommend trying it on in-store over the layers you usually ski in so you can find the right size.

Q2: Is this jacket warm and waterproof enough for skiing at Big White and SilverStar?
For typical Okanagan conditions, yes. Its 10,000mm AdvancedSkin Dry fabric repels snow, wind, and passing showers, which suits the cold, dry snow our local resorts are known for. The PrimaLoft Eco Black insulation keeps you warm on cold chairlift rides, and the powder skirt helps seal out snow on deeper days. If you regularly ski long days in heavy, wet storms, ask our staff about jackets with a higher waterproof rating.

Q3: How do I care for AdvancedSkin Dry fabric and PrimaLoft insulation to maintain waterproofing and breathability?
Close all zippers, then machine wash cold (30°C) with like colours. Don’t use fabric softener, which can clog the fabric and reduce breathability. Don’t bleach or dry clean the jacket. Tumble dry on low and remove it from the dryer right away, which also helps the synthetic insulation regain its loft.
