Q1: How does Salomon sizing run — true to size, or should I size up/down (and does it accommodate a base/mid-layer)?
The Edge Pant has a regular fit, and most skiers will find it true to size. It comes in short, regular, and long lengths, so you can choose your usual waist size and then pick the length that suits your inseam. Because the pant is already insulated, a base layer underneath is usually all you need. We recommend trying it on in-store over your usual base layer, and with your ski or snowboard boots if possible, so you can find the right size and length.

Q2: Is this pant warm and waterproof enough for skiing at Big White and SilverStar?
For typical Okanagan conditions, yes. Its waterproof AdvancedSkin Dry fabric keeps out snow and wind, and the built-in insulation gives medium warmth that suits cool to moderately cold days on its own. On the coldest days, add a warmer base layer underneath. On warmer spring days, open the vents to stay comfortable. If you regularly ski long days in heavy, wet storms, ask our staff about pants with a higher waterproof rating.

Q3: How do I care for AdvancedSkin Dry fabric to maintain waterproofing and breathability?
Remove the braces before washing, and close all zippers and fasteners. Machine wash cold (30°C). Don’t use fabric softener, which can clog the fabric and reduce breathability. Don’t bleach or dry clean the pant. Tumble dry on low, which also helps the insulation regain its loft. Cool iron if needed.
