Q1: How does Salomon sizing run — true to size, or should I size up/down (and does it accommodate a base/mid-layer)?
The Brilliant Pant has a regular fit, and most skiers will find it true to size. On Salomon’s product photos, models who are 6'1" and 6'2" both wear a size M. Because the pant is already insulated, a base layer underneath is usually all you need. The stretch fabric adds comfort and freedom of movement. We recommend trying the pant on in-store over the base layer you usually ski in, and with your ski boots if possible, so you can find the right size and length.

Q2: Is this pant warm and waterproof enough for storm days at Big White and SilverStar?
For waterproofing, yes. Its 20,000mm AdvancedSkin Dry construction handles heavy snowfall, wet storm days, and long days sitting on snowy chairlifts. Its PrimaLoft insulation gives medium warmth, which suits cool to moderately cold days on its own. On the coldest Okanagan days, add a warmer base layer underneath.

Q3: How do I care for AdvancedSkin Dry fabric and PrimaLoft insulation to maintain waterproofing and breathability?
Close all zippers and fasteners, then machine wash cold (30°C) with like colours. Don’t use fabric softener, which can clog the fabric and reduce breathability. Don’t bleach or dry clean the pant. Tumble dry on low and remove it from the dryer right away, which also helps the synthetic insulation regain its loft. If ironing, use a cool setting and don’t iron over any printed areas.
