Product details

The Salomon Equipe Pro Skate Stiff is a firmer-flexing version of Salomon’s race-level skate ski, built for skiers who put serious power into every push on the groomed skate lanes at Silver Star Mountain Resort and Sovereign Lake. The stiffer platform holds its shape under a strong stride, so you get more drive on the climbs and stable, fast glide on the long rolling sections. The Innowave core keeps the weight down, and the G5 Universal base stays quick from cold mid-winter mornings to softer spring snow through the Okanagan ski season from December to April.

KEY FEATURES

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The Equipe Pro Skate Stiff is built for intermediate to advanced skate skiers who are heavier or ski with a strong, powerful technique and find a standard-flex ski too soft. It suits dedicated racers and fitness skiers who want a light, race-grade ski with extra support on the climbs. Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right ski and size in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

What’s the difference between a stiff and regular flex skate ski?
A skate ski’s flex needs to match your weight and how hard you push. A stiffer ski stays supported under a heavier or more powerful skier, so the base glides evenly and you don’t lose energy into the snow. If a ski is too soft for you, it can feel slow and mushy. If it’s too stiff, it can feel hard to control. Our staff can help you figure out which flex fits you.

Can an intermediate skier use a race-level skate ski?
Yes. Salomon rates the Equipe Pro Skate Stiff for both intermediate and advanced skiers. If you’ve got solid skate technique and you’re skiing regularly, a lighter, faster ski like this can help you progress. The most important thing is getting the right flex for your weight and strength, which our team can help with in-store.

What does a “plated” Nordic ski binding system mean?
A plated ski has a binding plate built into the ski, so the binding slides onto the plate instead of being screwed into the ski. On the Equipe Pro Skate Stiff, you can adjust the binding position on the plate to fine-tune how the ski feels and glides. Our shop can set up and adjust the binding for you.
