Product details

The Salomon Départ. Ten Skis + L6 GW Bindings give young skiers a ready-to-ride freestyle setup for family days at Big White and Silver Star. The true twin tip shape and FS Park Profile (Rocker/Camber/Rocker) make switch skiing, butters, and rail tricks feel natural, while the 93mm waist keeps them stable cruising the groomers between park laps.

Dual Woodcore construction gives lighter, smaller riders a flex they can actually bend

Full Sandwich Sidewalls for solid edge grip and power transfer as skills progress

Wide steel edges stand up to rails, boxes, and everyday park abuse

L6 GW bindings included, with a DIN range of 2–5.5 suited to growing riders

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The Départ. Ten is built for intermediate to advanced young skiers who are ready to move beyond basic turns and start exploring freestyle skiing — think switch riding, butters, and their first rail hits. The 93mm waist and forgiving flex still keep it comfortable for everyday groomer laps around the resort.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right ski/board and size in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

What is FS Park Profile and is it good for a beginner park skier?
FS Park Profile combines rocker at the tip and tail with camber underfoot, so the ski stays forgiving for butters and rail presses while still holding an edge on firmer snow. That balance makes it approachable for a young skier just starting to explore freestyle terrain, rather than the more aggressive rocker you'd find on a dedicated big-mountain park ski.

What DIN range do the included L6 GW bindings cover, and who are they suited for?
The included L6 GW bindings have a DIN release range of 2 to 5.5, which is a junior-to-light-adult range designed for lighter, smaller skiers. Bindings don't come mounted from the factory — our certified technicians mount and adjust them in-store to match your child's boot sole length, weight, and ability level.

How is a twin tip kids' ski different from a standard kids' ski?
A twin tip ski has an upturned tail as well as tip, letting a young skier ride backwards and land switch, which standard forward-only kids' skis aren't designed for. It's the shape you want if your child is moving into park skiing, rail tricks, or just wants to play around switch, while a standard tail shape is better suited to kids sticking to forward-facing groomer and all-mountain skiing.
