  • Low-volume cork touring liner for AT, hybrid and tele boots, with a rear flex panel and front articulation for easy skinning and ZipFit heel hold on the descent. In stock at both Fresh Air Kelowna locations.

Product details

The ZipFit GFT touring ski boot liner is built for skiers who earn their turns, whether that's skinning up from the backcountry access points near Big White or Silver Star or logging long laps on a bluebird spring day. A rear flex panel and front articulation points let the liner move naturally on the uphill, while ZipFit's cork pouches lock in your heel and foot for a confident ski down. Backcountry Magazine and Blister have both named it an editor's choice. A neoprene lining and merino-and-Thinsulate toe box help your feet regulate temperature, from frigid pre-dawn starts to sunny spring missions in the Okanagan.

KEY FEATURES

Rear flex panel and front articulation points allow natural fore/aft movement while skinning without sacrificing power transfer on the descent

Pre-packed with less OMFit self-molding cork than ZipFit's resort liners, for compatibility with performance touring, hybrid AT and telemark boots

Three adjustable cork pouches (top of the tongue and either side of the instep) to add cork and fine-tune heel hold and fit

3mm neoprene lining that helps control sweat and makes the liner easy to slide on and off

Triple-insulated neoprene toe box with Thinsulate and merino wool for warmth and a sock-like fit

Asymmetrical tongue with instep window, speed cinch laces and a removable power strap for a locked-in, pressure-free fit

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The GFT is for backcountry and hybrid skiers who want a touring liner that skis like a premium resort liner, especially those with narrow heels or ankles who struggle with heel lift and blisters on long climbs. It's also a strong option for telemark skiers in lower-volume boots. Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right boot and fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

WHY SHOP WITH US

As a certified ZipFit dealer, our team offers in-store liner fitting to match the right ZipFit to your touring shell and foot, and dial it in for the terrain you ski most around Big White and Silver Star. We'll also check your walk-mode range of motion with the liner in your shell, so it moves freely on the skin track and locks in for the ski down. We also offer custom footbeds, shell punching, and buckle replacement in-store. Drop into Fresh Air Pandosy (555 Groves Ave) or Fresh Air Dilworth (1656 Dilworth Drive).

FAQ

Q.Are ZipFit liners good for ski touring?
Yes, and the GFT is ZipFit's touring-specific design. It uses a rear flex panel and front articulation points so the liner doesn't limit your range of motion while skinning, plus less cork than ZipFit's resort liners to suit touring shells. On the descent, the cork pouches give the same heel hold and foot positioning ZipFit is known for. The trade-off is that the GFT is a bit heavier than many stock foam touring liners, but most skiers find the comfort and downhill performance worth the extra grams.

Q.Can I use the ZipFit GFT in telemark boots?
Yes. ZipFit recommends the GFT for lower-volume telemark boots because its flex panels allow the range of motion tele skiing needs. Telemark skiers also tend to appreciate the flexible, comfortable toe box. For higher-volume tele boots, ZipFit also suggests the Freeride or Workhorse, whose fluted cuffs allow more knee drop.

Q.Do I need footbeds with ZipFit liners?
ZipFit strongly recommends using a good footbed in any of its liners. ZipFits are designed to hold your foot and lower leg in the right position inside the boot, and a supportive footbed under your arch helps them do that. On long touring days, that support also reduces foot fatigue, hot spots and cramping. An over-the-counter orthotic works for many skiers, while a custom footbed gives the most precise fit.

SPECS

LINER CONSTRUCTION & FIT

Liner Volume: Low, built to fit performance touring and hybrid AT shells.

Fill: OMFit self-molding cork composite, pre-packed with less cork than ZipFit's resort liners. It molds to your foot and doesn't pack out.

Cork Pouches: 3 per liner (top of the tongue and both sides of the instep), so cork can be added to fine-tune fit.

Range of Motion: Rear flex panel and front articulation points for natural fore/aft flex on the uphill.

Interior Lining: 3mm neoprene, which helps control sweat and is easy to slide on and off.

Toe Box: Neoprene, insulated with Thinsulate and merino wool for warmth and temperature regulation.

Tongue: Asymmetrical, with extra padding along the tibia and an instep window to relieve pressure over the top of the foot.

Lacing System: Speed cinch laces, 1mm ultra-thin with a speed-lock mechanism, to hold the heel and midfoot in place.

Power Strap: Removable, for added shin contact and stiffness or to take up volume on thinner legs.
