Product details

Whether you’re new to clipless pedals or adding long Okanagan road rides to your week, the Speedplay Comp makes clipping in and out easy. Wahoo built the Comp around a stable, confidence-inspiring platform that offers value and performance for cyclists from beginner to advanced. It ships with Easy Tension Cleats for a lighter-action entry and exit, and the symmetrical, dual-sided design means you can clip in without looking down. A chromoly spindle, Grivory GV-6H body and triple sealed cartridge and needle bearings deliver long-lasting durability with minimal maintenance. Like every Speedplay pedal, the Comp offers 3-axis cleat adjustability, an 11.5 mm stack height (3-hole) and micro-adjustable float from 0° to 15° so your heel can pivot freely for comfort and efficiency.

FAQ

Q1: How do I find the right size Speedplay Comp?
This version has a 53 mm Q-factor, the standard Speedplay spindle length. There’s no rider weight limit. Wider-stance riders, or anyone whose heels rub the crank arms, may benefit from a longer spindle. Wahoo lists 56, 59 and 65 mm options available through authorized Speedplay dealers [VERIFY: applies to Comp]. Ask our staff about ordering one.

Q2: Is the Speedplay Comp compatible with my shoes and cleats?
The Comp fits standard 3-hole road shoes, and a 4-hole adaptor plate is available separately. It comes with Easy Tension Cleats and is also compatible with Speedplay Standard Tension Cleats, sold separately, for a firmer release. Speedplay pedals are designed for road cycling only. Wahoo recommends keeping your cleats clean before and during every ride, since off-road riding can damage the cleats or lodge debris inside them.

Q3: What’s the difference between Easy Tension and Standard Tension cleats?
Easy Tension Cleats, included with the Comp, give a lighter-action entry and exit, which suits newer clipless riders or anyone who wants an easier release. Standard Tension Cleats, sold separately, give a firmer release with more resistance when unclipping, which many experienced and racing riders prefer. Both work with every Speedplay pedal.
