WHO IS THIS FOR?
|
The Rail+ 5 Gen 5 is built for intermediate to advancing mountain bikers who want full-power enduro e-MTB capability without stepping into the premium carbon price tier. This is the rider who wants to session Okanagan Mountain Park's technical descents, rack up vertical on the Black Knight / Spion Kop network, or simply push further into the backcountry than their legs alone would allow — and who appreciates a frame platform that can be tuned and grown into as their riding progresses. They'll value the Bosch CX motor's intuitive power delivery, the adjustable geometry, and the 800 Wh battery's ability to sustain a full day of riding without anxiety about range.
Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to work with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

HOW TO SET UP
|
As a certified Trek dealer, our Fresh Air team can walk you through Bosch eBike Flow app setup on your phone, personalise your assist modes, and configure the Bosch System Controller for your riding preferences before you leave the shop. We'll also set the RockShox Psylo Gold RC fork and Super Deluxe Select+ shock to the correct sag for your weight, and help you choose between the Rail+'s two suspension leverage rate settings — less progressive for trail comfort or more progressive for big-hit enduro riding. If you're converting the Bontrager wheels to tubeless (highly recommended), we can handle that setup in-store as well. We offer ongoing e-bike servicing at both locations, including firmware updates, battery health checks, and drivetrain maintenance to keep your Rail+ running at full capability through every season.
Drop into Fresh Air Pandosy (555 Groves Ave) or Fresh Air Dilworth (1656 Dilworth Drive), or book an appointment online.

GEOMETRY & SIZING
|
Frame geometry and sizing details for the Trek Rail+ 5 Gen 5 are available on the Trek website. Trek offers the Rail+ 5 Gen 5 in four sizes: SM, MD, LG, and XL — with size SM running 27.5" wheels front and rear, and sizes MD through XL using the mullet configuration (29" front / 27.5" rear). Note that the Mino Link flip chip and optional angle-adjust headset cups provide meaningful geometry adjustability within each frame size. Our team at Fresh Air can help you find the right frame size based on your height, inseam, and riding style — come in to either Kelowna location and we'll get you dialled in.

FAQ
|
Q1: What size Trek Rail+ 5 Gen 5 do I need? The Rail+ 5 Gen 5 comes in SM, MD, LG, and XL. As a general guide, riders around 155–170 cm typically fit SM, 168–180 cm fit MD, 178–190 cm fit LG, and 188 cm and up fit XL — but reach preference, inseam length, and riding style all influence the best choice. Trek's geometry chart (linked above in the Geometry & Sizing section) provides full stack, reach, and tube length figures for each size. The best way to confirm your size is to come in to Fresh Air Pandosy or Fresh Air Dilworth, where our staff can assess your fit in person.
Q2: Is the Trek Rail+ 5 Gen 5 right for riding Okanagan Mountain Park and the Black Knight trails? Yes — the Rail+ 5 Gen 5 is well suited to the mix of technical climbing and aggressive descending that defines riding in Okanagan Mountain Park and the Black Knight / Spion Kop network. The 160 mm of front and rear travel, slack 64.5° head tube angle, and Bosch Performance Line CX motor handle chunky terrain and sustained climbing with confidence. The mullet wheel setup adds agility on tight switchbacks while maintaining stability on faster descents. Riders who want to push into more demanding enduro territory on these trails will find the Rail+ 5 a capable and supportive platform.
Q3: How far can I ride on a single charge, and what factors affect range? Trek claims up to approximately 7 hours of ride time on a single 800 Wh charge, but actual range varies considerably depending on assist mode, terrain gradient, rider weight, tyre pressure, and temperature. Using Eco or Tour modes on flatter terrain or rail trails will extend range significantly compared to eMTB mode on steep, technical climbs. The Rail+ 5 is also compatible with the Bosch PowerMore 250 Wh range extender (sold separately), which can meaningfully increase range on big days out. The Bosch eBike Flow app gives real-time range estimates based on your current riding conditions.
