WHO IS THIS FOR |
Best for young riders ages 6–8, between 114–132 cm tall (approximately 45–52"), who are ready to move on from training wheels and take on real trails, greenways, and family bike rides. One frame size covers the full rider range, with three colour options: Viper Red, Lithium Grey, and Purple Abyss. The Precaliber is also hand-me-down heaven — built to Trek's quality standards, it'll still feel solid when a younger sibling inherits it years later. Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right kids' bike fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to work with one of our experienced staff members, or book online / call 250-763-3425. |

FAQ |
Q: Is the Precaliber 20 7-Speed road-legal for kids in BC? A: Yes — the Precaliber 20 7-Speed is a standard, unpowered bicycle and is fully road-legal in BC for use on roads, multi-use paths, and trails. BC law requires all riders under 16 to wear an approved helmet. We stock a full range of kids' helmets in-store, and our staff can help you find the right fit alongside the bike. Q: Are 7 gears necessary, and are they easy for kids to use? A: The 7-speed twist-shift system uses Shimano Tourney components — your child simply rotates the grip to change gears, no separate lever needed. The 14-28T freewheel gives a wide gear range that handles the flat stretches of the Mission Creek Greenway as well as the gentle climbs kids encounter around Kelowna. Most kids adapt to twist-shifting quickly; it's one of the most intuitive kids' drivetrain formats on the market. Q: Can I try the Precaliber 20 7-Speed before buying at Fresh Air Kelowna? A: Yes — come into either Kelowna location and our staff will size up your child, set the saddle height, and get them out for a test ride around the area. No appointment needed, though calling ahead on busy summer weekends is a good idea. |
