Product details

The Stöckli Montero AX is an all-mountain carving ski built for skiers who spend their days railing Silver Star's groomed cruisers but still want a ski that stays composed when conditions shift at Big White. At 80mm underfoot, it's a light, dynamic frontside performer, with an All Mountain Rocker and Tail Rocker that keep it playful and easy to steer through long vertical runs and quick direction changes. New Tip and Tail Flex technology softens the shovel and tail for smoother turn initiation without giving up the stability that makes it a favourite for skiers who want one ski to handle everything from icy mornings to soft afternoon corduroy.

All Mountain Rocker paired with a longer Tail Rocker for easier turn initiation and added playfulness

Solid Metal Edge Light for reduced weight without sacrificing edge durability

WHO IS THIS FOR

The Montero AX is built for advanced skiers who want a precise, mid-radius carving ski that still holds its own when the Okanagan throws variable snow, bumps, or a bit of fresh powder into the mix. It's an excellent single-ski option for riders who spend most of their time on-piste at Big White and Silver Star but don't want to be limited when they wander off the groomed runs.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right ski and size in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q.How does the Montero AX compare to the Montero AR or AS?
The Montero AX sits in the middle of the Montero line for turn radius and speed, offering a shorter, more agile arc than the giant-slalom-inspired Montero AR while holding a bit more top-end stability than the shorter-radius, bump-and-tree-oriented Montero AS. It's the pick for skiers who want quick, precise carving without sacrificing all-mountain versatility.

Q.What does Tip and Tail Flex technology actually do?
Tip and Tail Flex uses notches built into the ski's metal layer at the shovel and tail to create a softer, more adaptable torsional flex in those zones. In practice, that means the ski is easier to steer into and out of turns at a range of speeds, while the stiffer midsection keeps it locked in and stable when you're on edge.

Q.Is the Montero AX a good option for skiing ice and hardpack?
Yes. Its Solid Metal Edge Light construction and full edge contact geometry are designed to hold an edge confidently on firm and icy groomers, which is a big part of why it's built as a frontside-leaning all-mountain ski rather than a dedicated powder or freeride model.
