Whether your young rider is exploring Knox Mountain's family trails or building confidence out on the Okanagan Rail Trail, the Riprock 20 is designed to help kids ride fearlessly on trails and around the neighbourhood. Its A1 Premium Butted Alloy frame is paired with kid-specific fit details — a narrower Q-factor, shorter cranks, and a slack head tube angle — while wide Kicker tires and hydraulic disc brakes deliver control, stability, and stopping power for all kinds of terrain. A wide-range 8-speed drivetrain makes climbing easy, so kids can focus on having fun and building skills.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The Riprock 20 suits young riders ready to move beyond a basic bike into their first real trail-capable mountain bike, whether they're riding at Knox Mountain or joining family outings on the Okanagan Rail Trail. Its kid-specific fit details make it especially appealing to parents who want their child riding a bike built around proper biomechanics, not just a scaled-down adult bike.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to work with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

HOW TO SET UP

Our team will set the saddle height so your child can get a full leg extension while still comfortably reaching the ground at stops, and adjust the brake lever reach to fit smaller hands properly. We'll also do a full helmet fit check to make sure they're properly protected before heading out. Getting these details right makes a huge difference in a young rider's confidence and safety on the bike. Drop into Fresh Air Pandosy (555 Groves Ave) or Fresh Air Dilworth (1656 Dilworth Drive), or book an appointment online.

FAQ

Q1: What size Specialized Riprock 20 do I need?
The Riprock 20 comes in one size built around a 20" wheel, generally suited to riders roughly 41" to 52" tall — check Specialized's sizing guide for exact figures, or come into either Fresh Air location and our team will measure your child for the right fit.

Q2: Is the Riprock 20 right for Knox Mountain family rides?
Yes — with hydraulic disc brakes and grippy Kicker tires, the Riprock 20 is well suited to Knox Mountain's family-friendly trails as well as neighbourhood rides and paths like Mission Creek Greenway.

Q3: How do I know when my child has outgrown their bike?
A good sign is when your child can no longer get a slight bend in their knee at the bottom of the pedal stroke with the saddle at a comfortable height, or when they're consistently hitting the handlebars with their knees while pedaling. Our team can do a quick fit check in-store any time to confirm whether it's time to size up.
