Product details

On Knox Mountain's chunky descents, a crash onto rocks or a handlebar to the chest is a real risk, and the right protection lets you ride with more confidence. The POC VPD Air Chest is the chest module of POC's modular VPD Air system. It's certified to EN 1621-3 Level 1 and designed to combine with the VPD Air Back to create the full VPD Air Torso. The chest module does not work on its own and must be paired with the VPD Air Back. With no vest or jacket, it keeps bulk to a minimum and stays well ventilated. The VPD material warms and shapes to your body for a personalized fit, then hardens on impact.

FAQ

Q1: How do I find the right size POC VPD Air Chest?
Choose your size based on POC's size chart and match it to the size of your VPD Air Back. When fitted correctly, the chest plate should sit centred over your sternum and stay in place when you move into a riding position. Try it on in-store with your back protector to confirm the fit.

Q2: Is the POC VPD Air Chest compatible with the VPD Air Back?
Yes, and it requires it. The VPD Air Chest is designed to combine with the VPD Air Back to create the VPD Air Torso, and it will not function on its own. It is designed specifically for POC's VPD Air system, so it is not intended for use with other back protectors.

Q3: Should I buy the VPD Air Chest on its own or the complete VPD Air Torso?
If you already own the VPD Air Back, adding the VPD Air Chest gives you the full VPD Air Torso. If you don't have either piece, the complete VPD Air Torso includes both the chest and back plates in one purchase. The VPD Air system is modular, so the back protector can also be worn on its own for skiing in winter. Our staff can help you decide which setup makes the most sense for how you ride.
