Product details

From cold, early laps at Big White to sunny spring afternoons at Silver Star, Okanagan ski days can cover a wide range of conditions. The POC Obex Contour is a clean, lightweight resort helmet built to handle all of them. Mips® Evolve adds rotational impact protection on top of an in-mould PC shell bonded to an EPS liner. Front and rear vents keep air moving through the helmet, and goggle chimneys let heat escape from behind your goggles to reduce fogging. Detachable ear pads let you adapt to the temperature, and the helmet works with POC's Obex communication headsets.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The Obex Contour is for resort skiers and snowboarders who want MIPS protection in a light, comfortable helmet with no extra complexity. It suits everyone from weekend riders at Silver Star to season pass holders at Big White. If you like to chat with friends on the chairlift or on the run, the headset compatibility is a nice bonus. Skiers who want the same core construction without MIPS can look at the Obex Pure, and backcountry skiers should consider the Obex BC MIPS for its RECCO® reflector and NFC Medical ID.

FAQ

Q1: How do I find the right size POC Obex Contour?
The Obex Contour comes in three sizes: XS–S, M–L and XL–XXL. To find your size, measure your head circumference about 1 cm above your eyebrows and around the widest part of the back of your head. Then compare your measurement to POC's size chart [VERIFY: cm ranges for each size]. The helmet should feel snug all around without pressure points. The 360° fit system lets you fine-tune the fit, including when you're wearing a thicker or thinner layer underneath. If you're between sizes, try both in-store.

Q2: Is the POC Obex Contour compatible with communication headsets and goggles?
Yes. The Obex Contour works with both the POC Obex Communication Headset and the Obex Connect Headset. These fit into the ear pad area without any modification to the shell. For goggles, a flexible rear clip keeps the strap secure, and goggle chimneys vent warm air out through the helmet to reduce fogging. Fit with different goggle frames varies, so bring yours in and our staff will check for gaps or pressure at the brow.

Q3: Why does helmet fit matter for safety, and how do I check mine?
A helmet can only do its job if it stays in the right position during an impact. A loose or poorly positioned helmet can shift and leave parts of your head exposed. To check fit, the helmet should sit level, about a finger's width above your eyebrows. It should not rock forward or back when you shake your head. The chin strap should be snug with roughly one finger's space underneath. MIPS Evolve is designed to help with rotational forces from angled falls, but it works best in a helmet that fits correctly.
