Product details

Rocky climbs and rooty descents on Knox Mountain reward a pedal that stays out of the way of rocks but still gives your foot something solid to stand on. OneUp’s Clip Pedals pair an SPD-compatible binding with a large 80 x 90 mm platform at just 26.8 mm thick, which OneUp calls the thinnest mountain bike clip pedals in the world. The thin profile makes them less prone to pedal strikes, and the platform actively supports your shoe when clipped in for more confidence and control. A custom stainless steel binding gives 5° of float and a 12° release angle with no unwanted play. Removable hollow pins and included cleat spacers let you fine-tune the fit with your shoes. OneUp designed them to be light enough for cross country and durable enough for downhill.

WHO IS THIS FOR

The Clip Pedals are for mountain bikers who want the security of clipless pedals with the support and confidence of a platform, whether they ride cross country, trail or downhill. They’re also a good step for riders moving from flat pedals to clipless, since the release tension can be set soft enough for beginners and firm enough for racers. Riders who ride regularly on Knox Mountain or the KVR trail will appreciate the thin profile on rocky terrain.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to work with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q1: How do I find the right size Clip Pedals?
The Clip Pedals come in one size, with an 80 x 90 mm platform and a 57.5 mm stance width (measured from the centre of the clip to the outside of the crank face). Fit is tuned through your shoe and cleat setup instead. OneUp includes 1 mm cleat spacers, and the pins can be removed if your shoe sole interferes with clipping in.

Q2: Are the Clip Pedals compatible with my shoes and cleats?
OneUp says any shoe with a 2-bolt cleat mounting interface should be compatible, though some shoes may need a cleat spacer. The pedals work with OneUp’s included cleats and Shimano SH51 SPD™ cleats, and OneUp has confirmed compatibility with Shimano CL-MT001 cleats. OneUp doesn’t recommend using them with flat shoes for mountain biking.

Q3: What can I do if it’s hard to clip in or out?
OneUp recommends first installing a cleat spacer, which helps the cleat engage the binding sooner and reduces interference between your shoe and the pedal. If needed, remove the front pins, then the rear pins. You can also adjust the release tension on each binding, using the built-in indicator to match all four sides. Our staff can help you work through this setup in-store.
