Knox Mountain's jump features and skills areas are where a lot of Okanagan riders take their first run at dirt jumping — and the Norco Rampage 2 is built to be that first bike. This is Norco's entry-level DJ hardtail: aluminum 26" frame, RST Dirt 100mm coil fork, single-speed drivetrain, and Kenda K-Rad tyres with the grip and durability to handle repeated sessions on dirt, pump tracks, and skate parks. It's a clean, no-nonsense platform that gets riders on the right geometry from day one, without the premium component cost they don't yet need.

WHO IS THIS FOR

The Rampage 2 is the right starting point for riders new to dirt jumping — teens and adults looking to get on a proper DJ-geometry bike for the first time without overcommitting on budget. It suits riders moving on from a general-purpose bike who want to start working on technique at a local pump track, skills park, or dirt jump spot. The single-speed drivetrain keeps things simple, the geometry is built for predictable pop, and the Kenda K-Rad tyres handle the variety of surfaces most beginners encounter.

FAQ

Q1: What size Norco Rampage 2 do I need?

The Rampage 2 comes in S, M, and L. Sizing on a DJ bike is influenced by personal preference for standover and reach as much as height, so it's worth coming in to try the bike. Check the geometry chart at norco.com (https://www.norco.com/bikes/mountain/dirt-jump/rampage/27-rampage-2/) and let our team at either Fresh Air location help you find the right fit.

Q2: Is the Norco Rampage 2 right for Knox Mountain?

Knox Mountain's skills park and jump areas are a great match for the Rampage 2 — it's built specifically for pump tracks, jump lines, and technical park features. If you're planning mostly singletrack trail riding at Knox, a trail hardtail or full-suspension bike would be a better fit. Come talk to us in-store and we'll steer you in the right direction.

Q3: What's the difference between a hardtail and a full suspension mountain bike?

A hardtail like the Rampage 2 has a suspension fork up front and a rigid rear triangle — the standard setup for dirt jump bikes because it's lighter, stiffer, and delivers better pop off a lip. Full suspension bikes add a rear shock, which adds comfort and traction on rough trail terrain but also adds weight and complexity. For dirt jumping and park riding, hardtail is the right call. Come in to either Fresh Air location and we can walk you through the differences in person.
