From the flowy singletrack of the Hydraulink Trails to the bigger climbs up Knox Mountain, Kelowna's trail network rewards a bike that's capable without being complicated — and the Norco Charger A1 fits that brief. It's a modern hardtail with progressive geometry, a 130mm RockShox fork, and a full Shimano Deore 12-speed build, giving riders room to push further into trail riding without stepping up to a full-suspension price tag.

WHO IS THIS FOR

The Charger A1 suits riders moving past beginner trails and into more technical terrain — someone comfortable on flow trails who's ready to start tackling steeper, rougher sections at Hydraulink or on Knox Mountain's descents. They'll appreciate having a dropper post and a real 12-speed Deore drivetrain already built in, rather than needing to upgrade a budget hardtail piece by piece.

HOW TO SET UP

Our team will get the RockShox Judy fork's air pressure set to your weight so you're using the full 130mm of travel without blowing through the stroke on bigger hits. We'll also check tyre pressure for the mixed rock and hardpack you'll find on local trails, dial in dropper post routing and lever placement, and get your saddle height and handlebar reach set for a comfortable, confident riding position. If you want to go tubeless down the line, we can walk you through that setup too.

FAQ

Q: What size Norco Charger A1 do I need?
The Charger A1 comes in SM through XXL, with SM built around 27.5" wheels and MD through XXL on 29" wheels. Sizing depends on your height, inseam, and riding style — check the full geometry chart linked above, and our team at either Kelowna location can help confirm the right fit in person.

Q: Is the Norco Charger A1 right for Knox Mountain and the Hydraulink Trails?
Yes — the 130mm RockShox fork, wide-range Deore drivetrain, and dual-rotor hydraulic brakes give the Charger A1 plenty of capability for the climbs and rougher descents you'll find at Knox Mountain and Hydraulink, while still being efficient enough for smoother trail days.

Q: What's the difference between a hardtail and a full suspension mountain bike?
A hardtail like the Charger A1 has front suspension only, which makes it lighter, more efficient to pedal, and generally lower maintenance — a great choice for a wide range of trail conditions. A full suspension bike adds a rear shock for more control and comfort on rougher, more technical terrain, at the cost of some added weight and complexity. Our team can help you decide which makes more sense for how and where you ride.
