Between the smooth pathways of the Okanagan Rail Trail and the winding singletrack near Knox Mountain, Kelowna gives young riders plenty of room to build real trail confidence — and the Norco Charger Youth 24 is built to keep up with them there. It's a scaled-down mountain bike in the truest sense, with an aluminum frame, air-sprung suspension fork, and a real 9-speed drivetrain, so kids get authentic trail performance sized to fit them, not a toned-down toy.

KEY FEATURES |
Frame: Lightweight aluminum youth-specific frame with a low standover and a water bottle mount inside the front triangle, built to take a beating. Drivetrain: Shimano CUES 9-speed shifting with an 11–46T cassette and 28T narrow-wide chainring, giving young legs an easy gear for climbs and enough range to keep pedaling on the flats. Brakes: Tektro HD-M286 hydraulic disc brakes for confident, controllable stopping power in any weather. Wheels / Tyres: 24" double-wall aluminum rims paired with 24 x 2.25" CY Trail tyres for grip across roots, gravel, and packed dirt. Recommended age / height: Best suited to riders roughly 8–11 years old, 120–135cm tall. Hand brake type: Tektro hydraulic 2-finger junior levers, shaped and positioned for smaller hands. Standout feature: SR Suntour XCT air-sprung fork with approx. 70mm of travel smooths out roots and rocks without adding unnecessary weight. |

WHO IS THIS FOR |
The Charger Youth 24 is built for kids around 8 to 11 who've outgrown their first bike and are ready for real trail riding — actual gears, hydraulic disc brakes, and a fork that takes the edge off rough ground. It suits young riders progressing from greenways and rail trail rides into more adventurous terrain like Knox Mountain, and who'll appreciate a bike that shifts and stops like a grown-up mountain bike, just sized right for them. Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to work with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425. |

HOW TO SET UP |
Before your child rides off, our team will set the saddle height so their legs are in a comfortable, safe pedaling position, with room to grow into as they get taller. We'll also adjust the Tektro brake levers for a proper reach to small hands, so they can brake confidently with two fingers. A quick helmet fit check rounds things out — we'll make sure it sits level and snug before they hit the trail. As they grow, bring them back in for a re-check on saddle height and lever reach; it only takes a few minutes. Drop into Fresh Air Pandosy (555 Groves Ave) or Fresh Air Dilworth (1656 Dilworth Drive), or book an appointment online. |
