FAQ

Q1: How do I know if these bindings are compatible with my child's skis and boots?
The NX 7 GW is compatible with adult-norm Alpine (ISO 5355 A) and GripWalk (ISO 23223 A) boot soles. It is not compatible with child-norm (ISO 5355 C) or GripWalk Junior soles, which are found on many smaller kids' boots, so check the sole marking on your child's boots or bring them in and we'll check for you. Look recommends a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width, and the binding comes in 83 mm and 93 mm brake sizes. Bring the skis and boots to either Fresh Air location and our team will confirm compatibility before mounting.

Q2: Do I need to get these bindings mounted, or can I install them myself?
Ski bindings should always be mounted by a certified technician, and that's especially important for growing skiers. Correct mounting position, boot sole length adjustment, and DIN setting all affect how the binding retains and releases the boot. Our certified technicians will mount and set up your NX 7 GW in-store at Fresh Air Pandosy or Fresh Air Dilworth.

Q3: What DIN setting is right for my child, and why does it matter?
The DIN setting controls how much force it takes for the binding to release the boot. Too low and a skier may pre-release mid-turn; too high and the binding may not release when it should during a fall. The right number depends on height, weight, age, boot sole length, and skiing ability. The NX 7 GW covers DIN 2–7, and our technicians will calculate and set the exact value in-store. Because kids grow quickly, it's a good idea to have the DIN rechecked each season or whenever they change boots.
