Product details

When a storm settles over Big White or SilverStar and the wind cuts across the chairlift, a warm base layer makes the difference between lapping all day and heading in early. The Le Bent Women's Heavyweight Grid Fleece 1/4 Zip uses the brand's heavyweight 280gm Signature Merino Blend, rated for extreme cold. A 3D grid interior traps tiny pockets of warm air against your skin, and the 1/4-zip collar seals out wind on the lift or opens to vent after a hard run. It's equally at home on deep Okanagan powder days and around town in the ski season.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This 1/4 zip is for women who run cold and want serious warmth with an easy way to manage temperature. It suits resort skiers and snowboarders at Big White and SilverStar on frigid mid-winter days, ski hill staff who spend long hours outside, and anyone who wants a cozy top that works as a base layer on the mountain and on its own around town. It layers under a fleece or insulated mid-layer and a shell. Le Bent's size chart lists bust, waist, hip, and arm length for each size, and the brand's model wears a size Small at 178cm (5'10").

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right size and fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk gear and activity with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q1: How does Le Bent sizing run — true to size, or should I size up/down (and does it accommodate a base/mid-layer)?
Choose your size from Le Bent's chart using your bust, waist, and hip measurements. The 4-way stretch and sculpted panels give a close, comfortable fit that layers under a mid-layer and shell. For reference, Le Bent's model wears a size Small at 178cm (5'10"). If you plan to wear it mostly as a base layer, try it on with your usual mid-layer to check the fit. Our staff can help you find the right size in-store.

Q2: Is this base layer warm enough for skiing at Big White or SilverStar on the coldest Okanagan winter days?
Yes. Le Bent rates its heavyweight fabric for extreme cold, and the 280gm merino-bamboo blend and 3D grid interior hold heat close to the body. Open channels in the grid move sweat and excess heat away, and the 1/4-zip collar lets you vent quickly when you warm up. It's a base layer, so it isn't waterproof. Pair it with a mid-layer and a waterproof shell for storm days.

Q3: How do I care for Le Bent's Signature Merino Blend to keep it warm and breathable?
Machine wash on a gentle cycle with the zipper closed. Don't tumble dry, bleach, or dry clean it. Air drying protects the merino and bamboo fibres and the grid texture that provides the warmth. The merino content resists odour, so you can usually get several wears between washes.
