Product details

Storm days at Big White and SilverStar mean cold chairlift rides followed by hard runs through fresh snow, and your base layer has to handle both. The Le Bent Men's Midweight Crew is built for exactly that swing. Its 260gm Signature Merino Blend combines merino wool's natural warmth and odour resistance with the soft, stretchy feel of rayon from bamboo. It insulates when you're sitting still, breathes when you're charging, and moves sweat away so you stay dry from first chair to last run.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This crew is for skiers and snowboarders who want one versatile base layer for most of the Okanagan ski season. It works for resort days at Big White and SilverStar, long days of ski instructing or patrolling, and active laps where you heat up on the way down and cool off on the lift. It's warm enough for cold mornings but breathable enough that you won't overheat once the sun hits the slopes. The slim, next-to-skin cut layers easily under a fleece or insulated mid-layer and a shell. The Le Bent size chart lists neck, chest, and arm length for each size, and the brand's model wears a Medium at 181cm (5'11").

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right size and fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk gear and activity with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q1: How does Le Bent sizing run — true to size, or should I size up/down (and does it accommodate a base/mid-layer)?
The Midweight Crew has a slim fit with 4-way stretch. It's designed to sit close to the skin so it can wick moisture and regulate temperature properly. Choose your size from Le Bent's chart using your chest and neck measurements rather than sizing up. This is your base layer, so your mid-layer and shell go over it. For reference, Le Bent's model wears a Medium at 181cm (5'11") with a 93cm (36.5") chest. Our staff can help you find the right size in-store.

Q2: Is this base layer warm enough for skiing at Big White or SilverStar in typical Okanagan winter conditions?
Yes. Le Bent rates its midweight fabric for cold to extreme conditions, and the 260gm merino-bamboo blend balances warmth with breathability. That makes it a strong all-season choice for resort skiing and riding. It's a base layer, so it isn't waterproof. Pair it with a mid-layer and a waterproof shell for storm days. For the coldest January mornings, or if you run cold, Le Bent's heavyweight options add more warmth.

Q3: How do I care for Le Bent's Signature Merino Blend to keep it warm and breathable?
Machine wash on a gentle cycle. Don't tumble dry, bleach, or dry clean it. Air drying protects the merino and bamboo fibres and helps the crew keep its shape and stretch. The merino content resists odour, so you can usually get several ski days between washes.
