Product details

Whether you're first in line for fresh corduroy at Big White or heading out to tour a favourite spot near Silver Star, the Giro Tor Spherical is built for every kind of ski day. It uses Giro's Spherical Technology, powered by Mips®, a ball-and-socket design that lets the outer liner rotate around the inner liner to help redirect impact forces away from the brain. Hybrid Construction pairs a durable hard shell upper with an in-mould lower shell and sidewalls, all over an impact-absorbing EPS liner. Thermostat Control venting lets you adjust airflow with one low-profile button, and the In Form 2 Fit System dials in a secure fit in seconds, even with gloves on.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The Tor Spherical is for skiers and snowboarders who want top-tier rotational impact protection in a versatile, all-mountain helmet. It suits resort riders who move between cold morning laps and warm spring afternoons, as well as skiers who like to tour into the backcountry and need to manage temperature on the way up. If you want a helmet that's easy to adjust with gloves on and fits well with a range of goggles, the Tor is a strong choice.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to work with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q1: How do I find the right size Giro Tor Spherical?
Wrap a measuring tape around your head, keeping it level from front to back, and compare your measurement to Giro's size chart: S fits 52–55.5 cm, M fits 55.5–59 cm and L fits 59–62.5 cm. The helmet should fit with a little room when the fit system is loose, and sit low enough to protect your forehead without blocking your vision. From there, use the In Form 2 dial, which offers up to 6 cm of adjustment, to fine-tune the fit.

Q2: Is the Giro Tor Spherical compatible with my goggles?
The Tor features Vertical Tuning, which lets you adjust the fit system to accommodate different goggles and head shapes and avoid a gap between your goggles and helmet. Giro pairs it with its own goggles, such as the Method, but it's designed to work with a range of frames. Bring your goggles in and our staff will check the fit at the brow.

Q3: Why does helmet fit matter for safety, and how do I check mine?
A helmet can only do its job if it stays in the right position during an impact. A loose or poorly positioned helmet can shift and leave parts of your head exposed. To check fit, the helmet should sit level and low enough to protect your forehead, without rocking forward or back when you shake your head. The chin strap should be snug with roughly one finger's space underneath. Spherical Technology is designed to help manage rotational forces in certain impacts, but it works best in a helmet that fits correctly.
