The Fischer Speedmax 6 Classic BOA classic cross-country race boot is built for skiers chasing speed in the tracks. It's light, stable and efficient, made for fast laps in the set classic tracks of Silver Star's nordic trails and Big White's cross-country network. A CARBONFUSED® heel counter turns every kick into forward momentum, while the Li2 BOA® Fit System lets you lock in a precise fit in seconds before the start line or a cold Okanagan training session.

Q.What's the difference between the Fischer Speedmax 6 Classic and Speedmax 7 Classic?
Fischer says the Speedmax 6 Classic BOA has the same fit and comfort as the Speedmax 7 Classic. The 6 adds the Li2 BOA® Fit System for quick, precise closure. For a detailed look at how the two compare in construction and stiffness, stop by and our team can walk you through both.

Q.Why do classic race boots have a soft sole?
Classic technique depends on the boot bending easily at the forefoot as you kick and transfer weight onto the gliding ski. A soft-flexing sole like the Speedmax's TURNAMIC® sole lets the foot roll through each stride smoothly. Stability comes from the stiff, CARBONFUSED® heel counter and shell rather than the sole, so you get both flexibility and control.

Q.Are race cross-country boots good for fitness skiers?
They can be. Race boots like the Speedmax 6 are lighter and more precise, which many fitness skiers appreciate on longer, faster sessions. The trade-off is a snugger Race Fit and less insulation focus than comfort-oriented boots. If you ski hard and often and like a close fit, a race boot is a great step up.
