Product details

The Fischer RC5 Skate BOA cross-country skate boot is built for skiers who train hard and race, with the support and power transfer to match. It's made for the wide, freshly groomed skate lanes of Silver Star's nordic trails and Big White's cross-country network, where every stride rewards a stiff, responsive boot. The Li2 BOA® Fit System lets you dial in a snug, even fit in seconds, even with cold hands on an Okanagan morning.

FAQ

Q.Is a BOA cross-country ski boot worth it?
For many skiers, yes. A BOA® dial tightens the boot evenly in a few seconds and is easy to adjust with gloves on. It also won't loosen or come untied mid-ski the way traditional laces can. On the RC5, the Li2 BOA® Fit System gives a snug, consistent hold that helps with control and power transfer, which matters most in skating.

Q.Can I use skate boots for classic cross-country skiing?
It's not ideal. Skate boots like the RC5 have a stiff sole and a supportive cuff built for the side-to-side push of skating. Classic skiing needs a sole that flexes at the forefoot for the kick-and-glide stride. If you want to do both regularly, consider a dedicated boot for each, or a combi boot designed for both techniques.

Q.Is the Fischer RC5 Skate BOA good for beginner skate skiers?
It depends on your goals. The RC5's Race Fit and stiff sole are built for training and competition, so they reward strong technique and fitness. Newer skate skiers who plan to progress quickly may appreciate the extra support. If you're just starting out and want maximum comfort, a softer, comfort-fit boot may feel more forgiving.
