Product details

The hardpacked stretches of the KVR and the Okanagan Rail Trail reward a tire that's quick on the straights and steady when the gravel loosens in the corners. The Bontrager Girona Comp is built for exactly that: a lightly treaded fast-rolling tire perfect for speed and grip at an entry-level price. Its smooth centre and lightly-treaded side knobs create the perfect blend of straight-line speed and confident cornering, while the Comp HCL casing adds sub-tread puncture protection for durability and a good ride feel.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The Girona Comp suits riders who spend most of their time on hardpacked gravel and mixed surfaces: KVR day rides, Rail Trail commutes, and back-road loops around Kelowna. It's a solid value pick for replacing worn stock tires or adding speed to an all-road or gravel bike without spending race-tire money.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to work with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q1: How do I find the right size Girona Comp tire?
Check the sidewall of your current tire for its size (e.g. 700x42c) or ETRTO number. The Girona Comp's 42-622 ETRTO means it fits 700C (622 mm) rims. Before going wider, confirm your frame and fork have enough clearance.

Q2: Is the Girona Comp tubeless compatible?
Retailer specs list the Girona Comp as a wire-bead clincher designed for use with an inner tube.. If you want to run tubeless, the Girona RSL GR is the tubeless-ready version in the same family. It uses a 220 TPI folding-bead casing rated Tubeless Ready.

Q3: What tire pressure should I run on the Girona Comp?
Never exceed the 60 psi maximum printed on the sidewall. Most gravel riders run well below the maximum for better grip and comfort on loose surfaces. Your ideal pressure depends on your weight, rim width, and terrain. Start in the middle and adjust in small steps until the tire feels fast on hardpack and controlled in the corners. Our staff can suggest a starting point for your setup.
