Q: Are these shoes true to size?
A: Altra recommends ordering ½ size larger than your usual dress shoe size, since the FootShape™ toe box runs roomier through the forefoot than traditional running shoes. Fit can also feel different if you're new to zero-drop shoes — our staff can do an in-store fit assessment to help you dial in the right size.

Q: Are the Escalante 5 waterproof / suitable for wet Okanagan trails?
A: No — the Escalante 5 uses a breathable engineered knit upper with no waterproof membrane, so it's best suited to dry or lightly damp road and path conditions rather than wet, muddy trails. For wet spring conditions or creek crossings, ask our staff about Altra's waterproof options.

Q: Can I try the Escalante 5 on before buying at Fresh Air Kelowna?
A: Yes — come into either Kelowna location and our staff will assess your gait and fit, and help you choose between sizes or similar models. No appointment needed, though calling ahead during peak season (spring and fall) is a good idea.
