Long climbs out of the valley and full days on the KVR get a lot more approachable when you've got a Bosch motor behind you. The Marlin+ 8 Gen 2 is an electric hardtail mountain bike built around a Bosch Performance Line motor with 75Nm of torque and an integrated 540Wh PowerTube battery, giving you strong support on steep climbs and the capacity for longer outings. A 120mm RockShox Recon Silver RL air fork smooths out rough terrain, while a SRAM Eagle 12-speed drivetrain, Tektro 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes, a TranzX dropper post and wide tubeless-ready 2.60" tires make it a capable trail bike. Rack, fender and kickstand mounts mean it can work as a weekday commuter as well.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The Marlin+ 8 Gen 2 is for riders who are newer to mountain biking or coming back to it and want an electric hardtail that makes long climbs and bigger days realistic without moving up to full-suspension e-MTB pricing. It suits someone who splits time between flowy singletrack, rail-trail touring and running errands around town, and who will value the 75Nm Bosch motor, the dropper post and the practical rack and fender mounts. Riders who want one e-bike that handles weekend trails and weekday commuting will get the most from it.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to work with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q1: What size Trek Marlin+ 8 Gen 2 do I need?
Trek offers the Marlin+ 8 Gen 2 in S, M, L and XL. Size S uses 27.5" wheels for shorter riders, and M through XL use 29" wheels. Your ideal size depends on your height, inseam and how upright or stretched out you like to ride, so check Trek's geometry chart ([VERIFY]) as a starting point. The most reliable way to confirm is to stand over the bike in-store, where our team can check your fit at either Kelowna location.

Q2: Is the Trek Marlin+ 8 Gen 2 right for riding the KVR and Okanagan Rail Trail?
Yes. The 540Wh battery and 75Nm Bosch Performance Line motor are well suited to longer, steady days on the KVR or Okanagan Rail Trail. The wide 2.60" tubeless-ready tires add comfort and grip on gravel and loose surfaces. The 120mm fork can be locked out on smoother stretches, and the rack and fender mounts let you carry gear for longer tours.

Q3: How far can I ride on a single charge, and what factors affect range?
Trek's official range figure for the Marlin+ 8 Gen 2's 540Wh battery is [VERIFY]. Real-world range depends on several factors:

the assist mode you use most
rider and cargo weight
elevation gain
terrain and tire pressure
temperature
how much you pedal yourself

Steep climbs in high assist will use the battery much faster than flat rail-trail riding in a lower mode. Our team can help you set up your assist modes in the Bosch eBike Flow app to balance power and range for the rides you have planned.
