Product details

Storm days at Big White and SilverStar can swing from wet, heavy flakes to bitter cold before lunch, and the Teen Freedom Triclimate Jacket is built to adapt. This 3-in-1 system pairs a waterproof, seam-sealed DryVent™ 2L shell with a zip-in jacket insulated with Heatseeker™ Eco, so teens can wear them together on deep Okanagan powder days, run the shell alone on mild spring laps, or throw on the insulated liner for everyday wear around town. A powder skirt, helmet-compatible hood and sleeve pass pocket make it ready for the mountain from first chair.

WHO IS THIS FOR

The Teen Freedom Triclimate is made for teen skiers and snowboarders who want one jacket that handles everything from cold mid-winter days at Big White to slushy spring laps at SilverStar. It's also a smart pick for families who want real versatility: the insulated liner works as an everyday school jacket, the shell covers wet fall and spring days, and the two together handle the mountain. Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right size and fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk gear and activity with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q1: How does The North Face sizing run — true to size, or should I size up/down (and does it accommodate a base/mid-layer)?
The Freedom Triclimate has a relaxed fit, which leaves room for a base layer under the zipped-together system. The North Face has updated its youth sizing, so check the brand's current size guide rather than relying on an older jacket's size. The easiest option is to bring your teen into either location and our staff will help you find the right size.

Q2: Is this jacket warm and waterproof enough for ski days at Big White and SilverStar?
Yes. Worn together, the seam-sealed DryVent™ 2L shell and Heatseeker™ Eco insulated liner offer solid weather protection and warmth for typical resort days, and the powder skirt and helmet-compatible hood help keep snow out. On the coldest Okanagan mornings, add a warm base layer underneath.

Q3: How do I care for the DryVent™ shell to maintain waterproofing and breathability?
Always follow the care label first. As a general guide for waterproof-breathable shells, separate the inner and outer jackets before washing, use cold water and a technical cleaner made for outerwear, and skip fabric softener and bleach, which can reduce breathability. When water stops beading on the shell, a DWR re-treatment product can help restore water repellency.
