Q1: How does Peak Performance sizing run — true to size, or should I size up/down (and does it accommodate a base/mid-layer)?
The Whitelight APX Jacket has a regular, hip-length fit with articulated sleeves and a dropped hem. Peak Performance designed it to fit over a base layer, a mid-layer, and back protection, so you have room to layer up on colder days. We recommend trying it on in-store with the layers you usually ski in so you can find the right size.

Q2: Is this jacket warm and waterproof enough for resort skiing at Big White and SilverStar?
Yes. It's designed specifically for resort skiing. The 10,000mm waterproof HIPE® shell and fully sealed seams handle typical resort snowfall well, and the snow skirt and wrist gaiters help keep snow out. The built-in Pinneco Mantle™ synthetic insulation, combined with Solarcore® technology, provides warmth on cold chairlift rides and keeps insulating even if it gets damp. On the coldest Okanagan days, add a mid-layer underneath, and use the underarm vents when the sun comes out.

Q3: How do I care for HIPE® fabric and synthetic insulation to maintain waterproofing and warmth?
Close all zippers and remove the goggle wipe cloth before washing. Machine wash on a 30°C delicate cycle with similar colours, and remove the jacket promptly once the cycle ends. Don't use fabric softener, bleach, ironing, wringing, dry cleaning, or professional wet cleaning. Peak Performance recommends tumble drying on low after washing to maintain the water-repellent treatment. You can also drip dry it on a line in the shade, away from direct sunlight.
