Product details

When a storm parks over Big White or SilverStar, the most committed skiers head straight for the steep, deep, and untracked. That's where the Peak Performance Alpine GORE-TEX C-Knit™ 3L Shell Jacket comes in. Peak Performance calls it its pro shell for off-piste adventures. It's built with 3-layer GORE-TEX C-Knit™ fabric and a GORE-TEX ePE membrane, rated 28,000mm waterproof, with GORE-TEX Stretch panels in the back and hood so it moves with you. Whether you're hiking for fresh lines or riding wind-blasted chairs all day, it's ready for the worst of an Okanagan storm cycle.

WHO IS THIS FOR

The Alpine Jacket is for women who ski hard and go where the snow is best. That might mean deep tree runs at Big White, exposed lines at SilverStar after a storm, or tours into Okanagan sub-alpine terrain. Peak Performance built it as its pro-level freeride shell, with all the features serious off-piste skiers look for. Those include a radio pocket, a RECCO® reflector, a helmet-compatible hood, and wrist gaiters. The regular, hip-length fit has articulated sleeves and a dropped hem for coverage. Because it's an uninsulated shell, you can adjust your warmth with base and mid-layers to match the day.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right size and fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk gear and activity with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q1: How does Peak Performance sizing run — true to size, or should I size up/down (and does it accommodate a base/mid-layer)?
The Alpine Jacket has a regular, hip-length fit with articulated sleeves and a dropped hem. As an uninsulated shell, it's designed to be worn over a base layer and a mid-layer. GORE-TEX Stretch panels in the back and hood add freedom of movement. We recommend trying it on in-store over the layers you usually ski in so you can find the right size.

Q2: Is this jacket warm and waterproof enough for storm days and off-piste skiing at Big White and SilverStar?
For weather protection, it's one of the most capable jackets Peak Performance makes. It's rated 28,000mm waterproof, fully windproof, and fully seam sealed. The detachable snow skirt, wrist gaiters, AquaGuard® zippers, and helmet-compatible hood also help keep snow out in deep conditions. It's a shell rather than an insulated jacket, so warmth comes from your layers. Pair it with a base layer and an insulating mid-layer on cold Okanagan storm days, and open the underarm vents when you're hiking or the sun comes out.

Q3: How do I care for GORE-TEX C-Knit™ to maintain waterproofing and breathability?
Close all zippers and remove the goggle wipe cloth before washing. Machine wash at 40°C with similar colours using liquid detergent, and rinse twice. Don't use fabric softener, bleach, dry cleaning, or professional wet cleaning. Peak Performance recommends tumble drying on low or ironing on a medium (two-dot) setting after washing to maintain the water-repellent treatment, or you can line dry in the shade. Regular washing helps keep the membrane breathing well all season.
