Product details

The Line Sakana is an all-mountain freestyle ski built for skiers who want to hit rails and side hits one run and slash groomed corduroy the next — exactly the kind of versatility that suits both Big White's park features and Silver Star's long groomed cruisers. Its swallowtail shape and directional flex give it a surfy, playful feel that still holds an edge when you point it down a Silver Star run at speed, while the shortened effective tail keeps it forgiving for soft-snow days after a Big White dump.

KEY FEATURES

5-Cut™ Multi-Radius Sidecut blends five different turn radii into one sidecut for a wide range of turn shapes

Rocker/Camber profile with Early Rise™ tip for easy turn initiation and float in soft snow

Swallowtail shape reduces swing weight and drops the tail into soft snow while keeping a long effective edge

Thin Tip™ construction extends the core through the tip and tail with reinforced glass-on-glass bonding to resist rail and edge damage

Carbon Flax Tape laminate adds torsional stiffness without a harsh, deflective rebound

Bio-Resin build improves cold-temperature durability and bonding strength

WHO IS THIS FOR

The Sakana is built for intermediate-to-expert skiers who want one ski that can slide rails and stomp park features but still carve confidently on a groomed run. If your day mixes laps in the park with cruising Silver Star's groomers or chasing fresh snow at Big White, this ski is designed to keep up.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right ski and size in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

What is a swallowtail ski, and how does it actually ride?
A swallowtail ski has a notched-out tail instead of a full, squared-off end. On the Sakana, this drops the tail deeper into soft snow for a surfy float in powder while cutting swing weight, so the ski feels lighter and easier to spin or slash. On groomed runs, the shape still maintains a long effective edge so you don't lose grip when you tip it on edge.

How does the Sakana compare to other Line all-mountain skis like the Blade?
The Sakana leans more freestyle than a straight all-mountain carver like the Blade — it's built with a swallowtail shape, directional flex, and Thin Tip construction aimed at rail hits and park laps, while still handling groomers and everyday Okanagan conditions. A ski like the Blade is tuned more purely for edge-to-edge carving performance without the playful tail shape.

Is the Rocker/Camber profile good for both powder days and hardpack groomers?
Yes. The Early Rise tip lifts the contact point for easier flotation and reduced edge catch in fresh Big White snow, while the cambered section underfoot stores and releases energy for solid grip and power on Silver Star's groomed cruisers. It's a profile designed to handle mixed Okanagan conditions rather than one specific snow type.
