Q.Is a 115 flex ski boot too stiff for a woman?
Not for the right skier. A 115 flex is near the top of the range for women's boots, so it's best for strong, aggressive skiers who ski fast, drive the front of the boot hard, or are heavier and need more support. For lighter skiers or those who ski at moderate speed, a 115 can feel hard to flex, especially on cold days, and a 95 to 105 flex may ski better. Flexing a few options in-store is the quickest way to know.

Both share the same narrow 97mm last, Suspension Blade and Dual Core shell, so the core feel is similar. The 115 W is noticeably stiffer and aimed at advanced to expert skiers. It also has a higher-end package: the Core Custom 1 liner with Auxetic Technology, a premium footbed and a wider 40mm power strap. The 95 W uses the Core Custom 3 liner and a 35mm strap, and suits strong intermediate to advanced skiers. Choose based on how hard you ski and how much support you want.

Q.What makes the Lange Shadow different from other overlap ski boots?
Most overlap boots connect the cuff to the lower shell with fixed pivot points. The Shadow uses a long Suspension Blade that attaches at the ankle and heel instead of the spine. That lets the boot flex more smoothly and progressively, absorb more vibration, and release more energy as you finish a turn. You still get the precision of a traditional four-buckle overlap boot, with a livelier, more forgiving feel at the limit of the flex.
