Product details

The K2 Passport unisex freeride snowboard is built for exactly the kind of deep, untracked lines you find on a big powder day at Big White. Its directional shape and 8mm of tip taper are designed to keep the nose up and floating through Okanagan snow, while still holding an edge on the groomed cruisers over at Silver Star when the storm cycle passes. It's an intermediate-to-expert board that rewards riders looking to push into steeper, deeper terrain without giving up all-mountain versatility.

WHO IS THIS FOR

The Passport suits intermediate-to-expert riders who want a directional freeride board that can chase powder at Big White one day and carve up Silver Star's groomers the next. It's shaped and sized as a true unisex board, so it works for a wide range of riders looking to size up their terrain.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right ski/board and size in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

What is a directional combination camber profile and how does it ride compared to a true twin?
Combination camber blends traditional camber underfoot — for edge hold, pop, and stable landings — with an elongated rocker running through the tip. On the Passport, that rocker helps the nose rise up and stay on top of deep snow, while the camber underfoot keeps power and control when you're back on groomed terrain. Unlike a true twin, the Passport is shaped as a directional board, so it's set up to perform best riding forward, though it's still switch and fakie friendly for occasional freestyle moves.

Does the K2 Passport's tapered directional shape still work for riding switch?
Yes — K2 designs the Passport to be switch and fakie friendly even though it's a directional, tapered board built primarily for riding forward. The taper and directional flex are optimized for charging ahead in powder and variable terrain, so switch riding works well for mixing up your line but isn't the board's main focus the way it would be on a true twin park board.

How much does tip taper on a snowboard actually affect float in powder?
Tip taper — the difference in width between the nose and tail — helps the nose ride higher in soft snow while keeping the tail from washing out, which is what gives a directional board better float without needing a wider overall stance. On the Passport, 8mm of taper works alongside the elongated tip rocker to help you stay up and out of deep Big White powder with less effort than a directional board without taper.
