FAQ

How much wider is a "wide" snowboard boot compared to a standard boot?
For the K2 Maysis Wide specifically, the shell and liner are both 7mm wider than the standard Maysis. That difference sounds small on paper, but across the forefoot and toe box it's enough to eliminate the pinching and pressure points that riders with wider or higher-volume feet often feel in a standard-width boot, without changing the boot's overall length or performance.

Do wide snowboard boots fit differently in bindings than standard-width boots?
Not usually in terms of length, since wide boots are typically built on the same length/size run as the standard version — only the girth changes. Where it can matter is the width of your binding's highback and straps relative to the wider shell; most modern all-mountain bindings have enough adjustment range to accommodate it, but it's worth trying your boots in your actual bindings (or having a shop check it) rather than assuming.

Is a heat-moldable liner necessary if the boot already comes in a wide fit?
Yes, it's still worth it. The wide shell and liner solve the volume problem, but everyone's foot has its own unique shape — arch height, ankle bones, toe length. Heat molding the Intuition® liner fine-tunes the fit around those individual contours so the wider platform doesn't feel sloppy or loose in the areas that don't need extra room.
