What is Volume Shift™ technology and how much should I size down on the K2 Almanac?
Volume Shift™ moves surface area away from the tip and tail and puts it underfoot at the waist, so the board stays wider and shorter overall. This keeps the float and stability of a longer board while cutting down swing weight, so it feels quicker edge to edge. K2 recommends sizing down 3–5cm from your usual snowboard length when choosing an Almanac.

Is the K2 Almanac a good all-mountain board for powder days at Big White?
Yes — the rockered tip and extra set of front binding inserts let you set your stance back for added float when Big White gets deep, while the cambered section underfoot keeps the board locked in and responsive once you're back on groomed terrain.

How does the K2 Almanac compare to K2's Party Platter and Excavator?
The Almanac takes design cues from both boards but is built as more of an everyday all-mountain option rather than a dedicated powder or freeride shape. It shares the Volume Shift™ philosophy of those models but is tuned to be a versatile daily driver for riders who want one board that handles groomers, trees, and powder alike.
