Product details

Crisp, bluebird mornings at Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre are some of the best days of the Okanagan winter, until the wind picks up across the open meadows. The Shift Jacket is a lightweight 3-layer softshell that blocks that wind and stays breathable as you work up a sweat on the SilverStar trails. A soft, brushed interior keeps it comfortable against your base layer, and its clean Scandinavian design looks just as good on a winter walk around Kelowna as it does on the trail.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

The Shift Jacket is for women who want an easy, lightweight wind layer for active winter days: classic and skate skiers at Sovereign Lake and SilverStar, Nordic skiers who run warm and don't need an insulated jacket, and anyone who wants one versatile softshell for training sessions, snowy walks, and everyday wear around Kelowna. It layers easily over a base layer or light mid-layer, so you can adjust warmth to the day.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you find the right size and fit in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to talk gear and activity with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

FAQ

Q1: How does Daehlie sizing run? Should I size up or down, and will it fit over a base and mid-layer?
Daehlie describes the Shift Jacket as a regular fit, with pre-shaped sleeves and an adjustable hem for a flexible, comfortable fit. It comes in XS to XL. It's designed to wear over a base layer, and there's room for a light mid-layer on colder days. We recommend trying it on in-store with the layers you plan to ski in to check the fit through the shoulders and arms.

Q2: Is this jacket warm and waterproof enough for cross-country skiing at Sovereign Lake and SilverStar?
It's built for wind protection and breathability, not heavy weather. With a 3,000mm waterproof rating and a DWR finish, it sheds dry snow and light moisture well, but it isn't designed for wet, stormy days. It also isn't insulated, so on cold Okanagan mornings, pair it with a warm base layer or mid-layer underneath.

Q3: How do I care for this softshell to keep it water-repellent and breathable?
Close all zippers before washing, then machine wash at 40°C on a normal cycle with similar colours. Don't use fabric softener or bleach. Tumble dry on low, or iron warm (max 110°C) to reactivate the water-repellent DWR treatment. Don't iron over the printed logo, and don't dry clean it.
