Q1: How does Daehlie sizing run? Should I size up or down, and will it fit over a base layer?
The Power Jacket has a regular fit with saddle sleeves, and the 4-way stretch fabric and elastic panels let it move with you. It comes in XS to XL. It's designed to wear over a base layer for active skiing. If you plan to add a light mid-layer on very cold days, we recommend trying it on in-store with your layers to check the fit through the shoulders and arms.

Q2: Is this jacket warm and waterproof enough for cross-country skiing at Sovereign Lake and SilverStar?
For active Nordic skiing on cold Okanagan days, yes. The 3-layer softshell has a 10,000mm waterproof rating, and the fixed hood adds protection from wind and snow. Daehlie describes it as water-repellent and wind-resistant rather than a fully waterproof storm shell, though. The 60g padded chest and brushed back panel add warmth, and for slower-paced outings on very cold days, a warmer base layer underneath will keep you comfortable.

Q3: How do I care for this softshell to keep it water-repellent and breathable?
Close all zippers before washing, then machine wash at 40°C on a normal cycle, separately from other items. Don't use fabric softener or bleach. Tumble dry on low, or iron warm (max 110°C) to reactivate the water-repellent DWR treatment. Don't iron over the printed logo, and don't dry clean it.
