For high-output classic or skate skiing in cold, dry conditions, yes. Craft designed the Speed Tights 2 for high-intensity cross-country skiing in the cold, with windproof, water-repellent fabric and grid fleece lining at the front and calves where wind chill hits hardest. They're water-repellent rather than waterproof, so they're best suited to dry Okanagan snow and active skiing rather than wet conditions or long, slow outings with lots of standing around. On the coldest days, add a base layer underneath.

Q3: How do I care for the windproof, water-repellent fabric to maintain its performance?
Always follow the care label first. In general, wash the tights in cold water with a mild or technical-apparel detergent, skip the fabric softener (it can clog the fleece lining and reduce water repellency), and close the leg zippers before washing. Hang them to dry rather than using high heat, which can damage elastic fibres and bonded seams.
