Product details

The Blizzard Anomaly 88 men’s all-mountain ski was made for days on Silver Star’s long groomed cruisers, where it carves like a blade on firm Okanagan corduroy and rewards every ounce of energy you put into a turn. When a storm drops fresh snow overnight at Big White, it still has the versatility to handle soft snow, chopped-up runs and bumps without missing a beat. With two layers of Titanal and a TrueBlend All Mountain core, it delivers the precision and stability of a frontside ski with the range of a true all-mountain tool from December through April.

KEY FEATURES

Two-piece upper Titanal laminate with a sheet of fiberglass between the layers, shaped like Blizzard’s FluxForm, for grip and stability

Full-width lower Titanal laminate under the core for power and dampness

TrueBlend All Mountain Core of Beech and Poplar, tailor-made for each Anomaly model and each length

Rocker/Camber/Rocker profile: camber underfoot for edge hold on hardpack, rocker at the ends for easier turn entry and variable snow

Full Length ABS Sidewalls for direct energy transfer and precision through the turn

Traditional, minimally tapered shape for a long effective edge on groomers

FAQ

Q.Is the Blizzard Anomaly 88 the replacement for the Brahma 88?
Yes. The Anomaly 88 took over from the Brahma 88 in Blizzard’s lineup. It keeps the traditional, long-edged shape and metal-reinforced power that Brahma fans loved, now with Blizzard’s updated two-piece Titanal construction and TrueBlend All Mountain core tuned for each length.

Q.Blizzard Anomaly 88 vs Anomaly 94: which should I choose?
Both use two layers of Titanal and the same all-mountain DNA. The Anomaly 88 is narrower, so it’s quicker edge to edge and stronger on firm groomers, making it ideal if you spend most of your time carving. The Anomaly 94 is wider and a bit more forgiving in soft and variable snow, so it’s the better pick if you split your days evenly between groomers, trees and fresh snow.

Q.Is an 88 mm waist ski wide enough for skiing in the Okanagan?
For many skiers, yes. An 88 mm ski is quick and precise on groomers, which is where most Okanagan skiing happens, and it can still handle a few centimetres of fresh snow and chopped-up runs. On deep powder days a wider ski will float more easily, so skiers who chase storms often pair an 88 mm ski with something wider or choose a ski in the 94 to 100 mm range instead.
