FAQ

What is a rear-entry ski boot and how does it compare to a traditional overlap boot?
Rear-entry boots open via a hinge or latch at the back of the cuff, so you step in without cinching multiple buckles across the top. Traditional overlap boots use layered shell panels and buckles, offering very precise adjustment. The Nexus 95 BOA W is a hybrid — Atomic's NextStep architecture combines the quick entry of a rear-entry boot with overlap-like performance and fit.

How does BOA® lacing work on a ski boot, and is it as secure as buckles?
A dial tightens a thin steel lace through guides on the lower shell, spreading pressure evenly across the forefoot instead of concentrating it at buckle points. On the Nexus 95 BOA W, it's paired with a Set and Forget rear latch for the cuff. It's just as secure as buckles for most skiers, often more comfortable, and allows finer micro-adjustment.

Is a flex 95 boot stiff enough for an advanced skier?
Yes, for most advanced skiers. Flex 95 sits at the stiffer end of the intermediate-to-advanced range, giving quick energy transfer and solid edge control on groomers and mixed terrain. Only very aggressive or high-speed skiers might eventually want to size up to 110+.
