Product details

When the skin track out of Big White or Silver Star leads to untracked lines, you need a binding that climbs efficiently and still skis like an alpine binding on the way down. The Armada Shift² 13 MN is a redesigned hybrid binding that bridges tech-pin and alpine bindings, and Armada builds it for touring and freeride. This version gets an updated Block AFD and a reworked toe piece for better downhill performance, while keeping the uphill efficiency the Shift is known for. Because it's touring-capable, it suits skiers who split their time between lift-served terrain and backcountry laps.

KEY FEATURES

A DIN range of 6–13 covers a broad span of skiers who tour and ski freeride terrain

One binding handles both the skin track and the descent, with a simple switch between hike and ski mode

Multi Norm compatibility means it works with Alpine, GripWalk, Touring and WTR boot soles

The updated AFD and toe piece improve downhill performance without giving up uphill efficiency

WHO IS THIS FOR

The Shift² 13 MN is built for skiers who want one setup for resort freeride days and backcountry tours. It suits skiers whose recommended DIN setting falls between 6 and 13 and who want alpine-style downhill performance without a dedicated lightweight touring binding.

Our team at Fresh Air will help you match the right binding to your boots, skis or board, and ability level in-store at both Kelowna locations. Stop by to work with one of our experienced staff members, or call 250-763-3425.

WHY SHOP WITH US

Binding mounting and DIN setting is a safety issue, not just a setup step. Our certified technicians will mount your bindings and set your DIN to the appropriate range for your height, weight, boot sole length, and ability level in-store at Fresh Air Pandosy (555 Groves Ave) or Fresh Air Dilworth (1656 Dilworth Drive). For a hybrid touring binding like the Shift² 13 MN, bring in your touring boots too. We'll check that they fit and function correctly in both ski mode and hike mode.

FAQ

Q1: How do I know if these bindings are compatible with my skis?
The Shift² 13 MN is Multi Norm compatible. It works with Alpine boots that meet ISO 5355, Touring boots that meet ISO 9523, and boots with WTR or GripWalk soles. For your skis, Armada recommends a brake width equal to your ski's waist width or up to 15 mm wider. The binding comes in 90, 100, 110 and 120 mm brake widths. Bring your skis and boots in and our staff will confirm the right brake width and check your boots in both ski mode and hike mode.

Q2: Do I need to get these bindings mounted, or can I install them myself?
Have them professionally mounted. Ski bindings are safety equipment, and the mount, boot sole length adjustment and DIN setting all affect whether the binding releases when it should. Armada also says a certified technician should set and test release values, and that you should never adjust them yourself. Our certified technicians at both Kelowna locations will mount the Shift² 13 MN, adjust it to your boot and set your DIN.

Q3: What DIN setting is right for me, and why does it matter?
DIN is the release force setting on your binding. If it's too low, the binding can release unexpectedly. If it's too high, it may not release in a fall, which raises your risk of injury. Your correct setting depends on your height, weight, age, boot sole length and skier type, and a certified technician should determine it. The Shift² 13 MN adjusts from 6 to 13. If your recommended setting falls outside that range, our team can point you to a better-suited binding.
