Q1: How does Arc'teryx sizing run? Should I size up or down, and will it fit over a base and mid-layer?
The Strato has Arc'teryx's relaxed fit. It's cut loosely through the chest, waist, and hip for comfort and freedom of movement, with a more casual look, and leaves plenty of room for a base layer and mid-layer underneath. The centre back length is 29" (73cm) in a size M, and the model shown is 6'0.5" and wears an M. It comes in XS to XXL. Because the relaxed cut fits differently from Arc'teryx's regular-fit shells, we recommend trying it on in-store with the layers you plan to ride in.

Q2: Is this jacket warm and waterproof enough for storm days at Big White and SilverStar?
For waterproofing, yes. The 3-layer GORE-TEX PRO ePE Canvas is waterproof, windproof, and breathable, and the hem cinch and Velcro cuffs help seal out snow and wind. For warmth, keep in mind it's an uninsulated shell. On cold lift-served days, you'll want an insulated mid-layer underneath.

Q3: How do I care for GORE-TEX PRO ePE to keep it waterproof and breathable?
Close all zippers and fastenings, then machine wash on medium. Wash it separately, without fabric softener or bleach, and double rinse. Tumble dry on medium and remove it right away. Don't leave it sitting wet, and don't dry clean or iron it. Arc'teryx notes that the face fabric on ePE shells can wet out a little faster than on older membranes. This doesn't affect the waterproof membrane itself. A wash and tumble dry restores the DWR.
