Armada ARV 116 JJ UL Skis | Ultralight Freestyle Powder Skis

Backcountry-Ready Freestyle Power. The Armada ARV 116 JJ UL Skis take the iconic powder performance of the JJ and lighten it up with a Caruba Core—shedding 25% of the original weight. Designed for skiers who crave playful, freestyle lines in deep snow, this ultralight version offers enhanced maneuverability for touring and backcountry descents. With a surfy feel, wide waist, and reliable edge hold, the ARV 116 JJ UL blends Armada’s freeride soul with a backcountry-ready build.

ROCKER PROFILE

AR Freestyle Rocker - Rockered tips and tails are combined with positive camber underfoot allowing the ski to float and track through deep, variable snow while maintaining solid edge hold in firmer conditions.

FLEX

Tip: 3 | Mid: 5 | Tail: 4

CORE

Caruba Core – Armada's lightest wood species creates the best uphill feel while retaining the power and dampness required for descending in the gnarliest of terrain. This core makes no concessions in its quest to be ultralight.

LAMINATES

Laminate Matrix – A directional layering of fiberglass dictates the flex pattern and torsional rigidity of the ski to create the ultimate lively and forgiving feel with quick response.

SIDEWALLS

AR75 Sidewall – Sidewalls provide improved edge pressure under the boot, while cap constuction in the tip and tail provides smooth turn initiation and less hookiness - 75% sidewall, 25% cap.

BASE

S7 Base – Durable and low maintenance, with a speed additive for quickness.

EDGES

1.7 Lightweight Edge – Light and strong, these heat-treated edges effect the feel of the ski minimally to ensure a snappy, lightweight feel.

BINDING COMPATIBILITY

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
